Playoffs

Well it is that time of year again… Playoffs.  Two of our hometown teams are making a run to become champions.  The Suns and Coyotes, both having amazing seasons and continue to make their mark in the first round of playoffs.

The Coyotes have fought back this year having a season to remember.  It was just last year that the state of Arizona almost lost our beloved Coyotes, due to lack of funding.  The Coyotes brought the love of ice back to the desert this season.  This is the first time in the playoffs in a few years. The series against the Detroit Red Wings is tied 2-2 with game five on Friday.

The Suns, they are probably one of the favorite teams here in the valley.  With last years attempt to make the playoffs failed, this year they have brought more than heat to the court.  Some may say the Suns are getting old with Grant Hill and Steve Nash but those two continue to make something more out of their career each year in the NBA.  They are facing the Portland Trailblazers and tonight is game 3 of the series.  Series tied 1-1.

Sports Bars and Grills all over the state are broadcasting the games, so go out and enjoy the playoff atmosphere.

Pat’s Run

This past weekend a record 28,000 people came out to support The Pat Tillman Foundation.  It was the 6th annual Pat’s Run, at Sun Devil stadium.   Pat Tillman was an ASU alum and played football for the Sun Devils.  Pat went on to play for the Arizona Cardinals, then decided to join the military and was drafted to serve the country.  He was killed in 2004 in Afghanistan due to friendly fire.  But the is still much controversy to the way Pat Tillman died.  Pat Tillman was an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with.  He was a dedicated athlete and student and his legacy lives on.
